Summer in the Arizona Desert could mean being lazy and doing nothing, but not at Desert Winds Retirement Community. Our Activity Director does not miss a beat because of the heat!!! We give the raspberries to triple-digit thermometer days...'raspberry coolers', that is! What could be more cool than sipping on a crisp, bubbly 7-up with cool raspberry sherbert floating in it, while listening to the sounds of a 'cool' local jazz quartet in a 'cool' lounge! Now, that's cool, man. And, some may 'like it hot'! Hot tamales, that is. We have cooking classes in the full kitchen in our air conditioned activity room at Desert Winds, and last week it was a Mexican Fiesta where we learned all about how to make Tamales, different flavored salsas, and guacamole ...yum! Stay fit and cool in our exercise room where the temperature is kept just right so you won't over heat. Or, if the treadmill is not your cup of tea, choose one of our many recently-released movies from our video library and watch it in the comfort of your own apartment or our climate-controlled movie/theater room.
You don't have to go out in the heat when our chauffeur will run errands for you, or pick up a few groceries for you.
You'll see, there are lots of 'cool' activities to keep you out of 'hot' water at Desert Winds Retirement and Assisted Living Community.
